EWGA is a non-profit corporation whose mission is to provide opportunities for women to learn, play and enjoy the game of golf for business and for life. EWGA has grown into a network of over 19,000 members in 120 chapters across the U.S. and Canada. The organization seeks to motivate and educate women to utilize golf for personal growth and corporate advancement. EWGA creates opportunities for women of every ability level to bond, network and enjoy the game of golf in a welcoming environment.
The Wilmington, Delaware Chapter was formed in 2001. We are dedicated to developing a strong program to encourage women golfers - including those brand new to the sport - to join forces to enhance their playing opportunities and meet new playing partners while broadening their business opportunities through networking on and off the course. Instructional clinics allow new golfers to learn without embarrassment. Leagues, outings and championship tournaments are conducted for those already in the swing.
Our chapter has approximately 100 members. While many of our members live and/or work in northern Delaware, many also live and/or work in Pennsylvania, New Jersey and Maryland. Our members work in a wide variety of industries including automotive, banking, chemical, investment, pharmaceutical, legal, real estate and sales. Some work for large Fortune 500 companies; others work for smaller corporations or own their own businesses. Regardless of employment background, one thing we all have in common is a love for the game of golf.
