WELCOME TO THE WILMINGTON, DE CHAPTER!

As the largest women-focused amateur golf association in the U.S., the EWGA has connected more than 100,000 working and professional women who share a passion for cultivating relationships and enjoying the game of golf.  Offering a wide range of affordable organized golf activities and educational programs, this award-winning association has been driving social and networking opportunities for women through the game of golf since 1991.

Our Chapter, which was formed in 2001 and is celebrating its 15th anniversary in 2016, offers golf, education and networking events for golfers of all skill levels.  Our members are our most valuable asset.  That's why membership will continue to play an important role in the continued health and growth of our Chapter.  Our members are business owners, corporate executives, professionals, stay-at-home moms, retirees and entrepreneurs.  All of us share at least one thing in common - love for the game of golf!

Don't worry about your score - we want you to play golf with us.  We offer leagues and golf events at every level, from beginner to expert. Our top scoring members shoot under 80 for 18 holes while many of us are still working to break 100.  Some of us don’t even keep score (although we encourage you to start doing so once you're comfortable)!  There's something for everyone.

EWGA is about fun, friendship, networking, opportunities to play golf and skill development.  We hope that both renewing members and new ones will take full advantage of all that EWGA has to offer.  After all...

Membership

Membership with choices.  Membership with value.  EWGA is the way for women to get connected to golf.  Working women, retirees, students - there are a variety of membership levels to suit your needs.  Click here for more information.  For a listing of member benefits, click on the "Benefits" tab at the top of the page.

Handicaps

A handicap is important because it allows golfers at any skill level to compete on an equitable basis.  Posting all of your scores will give you an accurate measure of your level of play.  EWGA provides a free handicap service as part of your membership benefits.

Pace of Play/Etiquette

Did you know that it takes about an hour to actually "play" 18 holes of golf?  The other 2½ to 4 hours is "logistical positioning" or getting to the next shots with the right equipment.  The slowest group on the course dictates the pace of play for everyone behind them.  Any group that gets out of position, especially early in the day, affects many groups behind them.  Please be mindful of your own habits and how they affect pace of play.  Click here for some tips to help you keep moving on the course.  Please note that many of these tips have nothing to do with rushing your play, but rather with simply being ready to play, and with using common sense and good etiquette on the course.
